- 1 puff pastry sheet of 60×40 cm
- 200 g of mushrooms
- 1 onion
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 dessert spoon of oregano
- 1 dessert spoon of cumin
- Ground pepper
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp of milk
- Extra virgin olive oil
Take the puff pastry out of the fridge before start cooking to temper it while preparing the rest of the ingredients.
First of all, chop the onion and the garlic. Fry the onion in a pan with hot olive oil and a little salt, when it is lightly fried, add the garlic cloves.
Once the onion is browned, add the minced beef along with some salt, the cumin, the oregano and the black pepper. When the meat is well cooked, remove the pan from the heat and set aside.
Wash and laminate the mushrooms. Fry them gently with a dribble of olive oil, add salt to taste and sauté the mushrooms until they are done.
Preheat the oven to 200 ºC.
Mix the minced beef with the mushrooms until they are fully integrated. Then, open the puff pastry and spread the filling over the centre of the sheet, leaving enough place on the sides for bending the puff pastry. Then close the puff pastry forming a four.
After that, beat the egg and add the milk, mix both ingredients and spread it over the puff pastry using a kitchen brush, do that in order to get a golden colour.
Bake the pastry at 150 ºC in the preheated oven with top and bottom heat for 30-40 minutes. Remove from the oven when it gets a golden colour.
Place the beef pastry on a try and cut it into medium-size slices being careful not to break it.
